About TierListHQ

We cover Diablo IV, Path of Exile 2 and Marathon. Three games, covered properly, rather than a long list covered thinly — if a game is on the site it is because someone here plays it through the season, not because the keyword looked cheap. Rankings are broken out by mode, because the class that tops the overall ladder is frequently the wrong pick for how you actually play: Diablo IV is ranked across overall, solo self-found, speed farm, boss killer, group and hardcore, and Marathon's Runner Shells across solo, squad and ranked.

01What is actually here

Each game has its own site. d4.tierlisthq.com carries the Diablo IV class board, the Oracle build advisor, and guide pages for the systems the rankings depend on — the Horadric Cube, Mythic crafting, the Talisman system, War Plans, enchanting and affixes, and the seasonal Lair Boss. marathon.tierlisthq.com carries the Runner Shell and weapon boards plus event guides. poe2.tierlisthq.com is Mirrorcheck: paste a Path of Building code or a pobb.in link and it prices the entire build against the live trade economy, then returns an impact-ranked shopping list capped to whatever budget you set.

The Meta Report runs weekly across all three games — what moved, what got hotfixed, and which of our own calls turned out to be wrong. The update log records every board change with a date. If a board says it was updated, something on it changed, and the log says what.

02Who writes this

One person, working from Australia. Not a team, not a wiki, not a content farm — every ranking, guide page and report on this network is written and maintained by the same individual, and mistakes are therefore traceable to exactly one place.

That is a real limitation and it is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up. A single operator cannot test every build at every gear level, so the boards lean on primary sources — official patch notes, the ladder data on sites like poe.ninja, and the published verdicts of larger outfits like Maxroll and Mobalytics — combined with actually playing the season. Where those sources disagree, the disagreement is stated on the page instead of being averaged into a confident-sounding letter. Where something is a prediction rather than a measurement, it is labelled as one.

03Being wrong in public

Tier lists are wrong constantly. Most sites quietly edit the page and move on. The rule here is the opposite: a wrong call is corrected on the board and owned by name in the next Meta Report, and the dated report that carried the error is left standing as published rather than rewritten to look prescient.

Two worked examples, both still readable on this site. Season 14 of Diablo IV launched with Paladin ranked S+ on our board off the pre-season patch notes; a week of live Pit data showed the buffs never translated into top-end damage, the class was moved down, and Report #001 said so in the first paragraph. We then spent three consecutive weeks predicting a hotfix nerf to Death Trap Rogue that never arrived — Report #004 resolves that by admitting the mechanism was wrong, not just the timing: the build fell out of S-tier on its own as gear caught up.

04How this is funded

TierListHQ is independent and carries advertising and some affiliate links, which are disclosed on the pages that use them. No placement on any board is sold, sponsored, or influenced by a commercial relationship — not one letter on any tier list is for sale, and no advertiser has ever been shown a ranking before it was published. If that ever changes it will be written here first.
